“I want my girls to be able to wear their bridesmaid dresses again!”
How many times have we all heard this and yet how few times does it ever actually happen? Is it even really possible? We think so, however it is definitely going to depend on just how formal the wedding is. For the most part, a full length formal gown is less likely to ever get any more use, even more so if you put all your girls in the same style.
So if the occasion calls for it, look at cocktail or tea length dress styles. Remember to pay attention to the fabric of the dress as well. Heavy satins and taffetas are harder to wear for other, less formal occasions, whereas fabrics such as silk, rayon, cotton, and blends are not only more wearable, but are also much easier to have cleaned.
Another option to consider is letting each bridesmaid choose a dress that is right for her own body type, as long as it is in the color spectrum you desire. If you decide you are comfortable doing this, keep in mind you will probably want to see the dress prior to its purchase, to make sure it is fitting for your overall bridal style.
Below are a few examples of dresses we think have the potential to actually be worn a second time.
Love the lace, color and the cut. Very elegant!
This one would be great as a shorter cocktail dress.

This is a fun yellow dress. Great for an afternoon affair!

Gone is the boring, flat, unappealing table of food and snacks at every party. What we see trending is making the buffet or dessert table part of the event décor, and no longer just where the food goes. Fun and unique dessert and buffet tablescapes are a great way to draw attention to all the thought, time, and effort you put into planning and preparing the food you serve.
Here are a few great ideas and examples of how to present your food, no matter what you are serving! These awesome tablescapes can work for any type of part as you will see. Also it’s a great way to use the table space to its fullest extent. By having the plates, trays, bowls or whatever you use set at different heights, you can present more food at once and spend less time attending to and refilling the food. That gives you the opportunity to actually enjoy your event!

Monday- DJ Versus Bands

So many often ask which we would recommend, a DJ or Band? This question comes up so often, we thought we would inform you of the options and our feelings on this often controversial subject. Alot can come from discussing what atmosphere you want to create for your event.
Both DJ's and Bands are usually more than happy to accomodate to contributing to your desired atmosphere and overall objective for your event. Both a DJ and a band can offer a variety of music selections and create both fun & energetic or a calm and relaxing atmostphere, for you & your guests. It's thought that a DJ can offer many more selections for genres & songs, this isn't necessarily the case. Although it is easy for a DJ to download off the internet pretty much any song that you request, a band can also learn requests that can be played live during your event.
Many worry that they can't get the lights and sound effects that maybe only a DJ can offer, but in reality it is easy to work with a band that has lighting effects or companies they work with that can offer just as much, if not more.
The average cost of a DJ is usually $1000 and up, a band which provides more than one person will cost about the same depending on the same factors that a DJ takes into account. Location, hours, date & additional equipment.
As you see we feel that the best choice is to select a DJ or band that suits your event, the atmosphere and who you are. With either selection of a DJ or a band you always want to be sure to hire a professional who is easy to work with, understands your needs and is able to offer you the services you desire within your budget.
