The average wedding costs are estimated at $28,082. 15% of couples do not have a budget and 42% end up going over their budget. The first step in planning your wedding is to come up with some kind of budget summary to help you figure out what money will be contributed to what wedding selections. There are average percentages that you can go off of in helping you create a budget. If you choose not to have a specific vendor, you can add that percentage toward another service or product. Below you will find a Budget Summary that we often use to get couples headed in the right direction for keeping within their budget.

Bridesmaid Trends

“I want my girls to be able to wear their bridesmaid dresses again!”

How many times have we all heard this and yet how few times does it ever actually happen? Is it even really possible? We think so, however it is definitely going to depend on just how formal the wedding is. For the most part, a full length formal gown is less likely to ever get any more use, even more so if you put all your girls in the same style.

So if the occasion calls for it, look at cocktail or tea length dress styles. Remember to pay attention to the fabric of the dress as well. Heavy satins and taffetas are harder to wear for other, less formal occasions, whereas fabrics such as silk, rayon, cotton, and blends are not only more wearable, but are also much easier to have cleaned.

Another option to consider is letting each bridesmaid choose a dress that is right for her own body type, as long as it is in the color spectrum you desire. If you decide you are comfortable doing this, keep in mind you will probably want to see the dress prior to its purchase, to make sure it is fitting for your overall bridal style.

Below are a few examples of dresses we think have the potential to actually be worn a second time.

Love the lace, color and the cut. Very elegant!

This one would be great as a shorter cocktail dress.

This is a fun yellow dress. Great for an afternoon affair!

Thursday- Champagne Fairytale Theme

Posted on December 14, 2012 at 12:50 AM Comments comments (0)

I'm sure you have noticed that many are focusing in more on natural, soft tones for their weddings and events. One that popped into my mind was champagne! Not quite talking about the bubbly or fizzy, but the romantic color. Focusing on the color champagne makes me think of things that are whimsical, romantic and classy. To go along with those things, I got to thinking...fairytales are often described very similar, why not put the two together! Here are some inspirations for a Champagne Fairytale Theme!
