Your Save the Date Cards are the first piece of wedding stationary that you will mail out to your wedding guests announcing the date of your wedding. You want them to reflect you and the style of your day, as this will be one of the first reflections of your wedding and you together. Feeling pressure? Essence of Events is here to help!
Increasingly, Save the Dates are becoming more quirky. While your invitations may take on a more formal tone, these cards can be more fun and more “you” while the invitations will reflect the tone and theme of the big day.
Typically Save the Dates are mailed out about six before the actual date of the wedding. Their purpose is to let guests know about your upcoming nuptials, and to mark their calendars for your fabulous event!
So if you need some inspiration for your cool, distinctive, and original cards, we have pulled some of our favorites. Take a peek and scroll through these photos for your own inspiration.

Chalk save the dates are fun and whimsical. Adding this sense of nostilagia to your cards will put a smile on your guests face and let them know what a good time they are sure to have at your wedding.

This is perfect for the artistic couple, or anyone who wants to make a bold statement. It not only makes a great card, but a beautiful photograph as well.

Different variations of Scrabble make for another unique way of telling your guests when they should be marking their calendars.

Incorporating your passions into your wedding is important to show off what kind of couple you are. This bride and groom love theater, as clearly seen from their background in front of the Paramount.

Literal meanings of tying the knot and saving the date are taken into effect, as seen here in these images.

Writing on the bottoms of shoes is also popular as a form of getting the word out about the big day.

The sports themed save the dates are cute, and a good way of incorporating something that the couple, or especially the groom, love into the wedding. You may not use the sports theme on the actual day, but you can use it in the save the dates and it is fun!

Shadow art is a unique way to showcase the date.

I love this tie sent to the males in the wedding party. It is thoughtful and original.

Wedding Catering Options - Food Friday

Knowing what kinds of foods you like is one thing (pizza, ice cream, yum!) but deciding what to serve your guests at your wedding is quite another. Formal or casual? Buffet or sit down? Red meat or white? There are so many options and I bet I’ve overwhelmed you with just those few!
At Essence of Events, LLC we have over 20 years of experience in this industry, which means that we know a lot about what kinds of food to serve at your wedding (and yes, some people do serve their favorites: pizza and ice cream, yum!) and we are here to help.
We are going to help you start thinking about catering options by breaking down what style of reception you want for your wedding catering. Read on for our tips and tricks!

Sit down reception. This is a formal way of serving your guests. Your friends and family will be served their entrée by wait staff. It is elegant and traditional; although many believe that it can be more expensive option, unbelievably, it's not! a good way to remember is less food, less cost.
Family style feeding. With this meal style, your guests are seated but are served from communal plates at the table. This is a great option for socializing, and is almost a forced mingling exercise. It helps to bond guests when they don’t know each other, easy for picky eaters or those with dietary restrictions to just have the option of passing what they can't have or don't like.

Buffet option. A popular option that offers lots of choice and requires fewer servers. however, it can be more expensive than the sit down reception. But, because you can offer more food selections, it is great for those who have guests who are known to be big eaters and want to skip the menu options for guests before the wedding. But long lines at the buffet mean grumpy guests, so beware!

Specialty reception. Depending on your personal taste and budget, you may not choose to serve a traditional dinner. Instead, breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dessert, and appetizers may be great alternative options.
At Essence of Events, LLC we can help you at every stage of your planning, from décor and design, menu selection, to budgeting and timelines; we create unique and beautiful weddings and events.

Fairytale Wedding - Theme Thursday

Every girl dreams of meeting her prince charming and riding off into the sunset. For this couple, they decided to put their dreams into reality. When they found each other and decided to tie the knot, their storybook romance was literally converted into a beautiful theme fit for a fairytale prince and princess.
Their gorgeous wedding theme of storybook romance is a combination of a bit whimsy, a little bohemian, and a lot of love. This fantastical fairytale is best described in photos, so take a peek through these gorgeous snapshots to see the inspiration pour out.

The bride’s bouquet incorporates different textures into it to pick up on the whimsy of the day.

The alter has a bohemian vibe to it, but still keeping chic with strands of crystals and pearls which lends to a prince and princess feel with glimmering jewels.

This tablescape looks like you would find the antiqued items in a medieval castle or perhaps a fairy hollow. The theme is all in the details with the small touches such as individual candle pillars and long tables.

It is increasingly popular to have different styles of tables at weddings and events. While the previous tablescape would have taken on more of a knightly or darker tone, perhaps this would be the princesses or fairy table in this storybook. From the vintage tableware to fern place holders, every detail has been accounted for.

The dessert bar has an eclectic and bohemian edge to it. With handmade sweets from cupcakes to marshmallows; guests at this wedding are sure to find something that they desire.

The wedding cake; beautifully intricate yet simplistic at the same time.

Vintage furniture was placed around the wedding area for guests to enjoy.

The details of this wedding are really how the couple made it pop. Without small touches such as this, it would have just been a beautiful event, but things like this make the
storybook element really come to life.

For the past two Wednesday’s, our blog has featured events and vendors that Essence of Events, LLC has the pleasure of working with. This is the final week in our series showcasing our preferred vendors, so we are excited to finish with this electric décor scheme.
Our rental partner for this particular event was Trendy Event Rentals, and they are just wonderful to work with. As their name would suggest, Trendy has the most fashionable and chic décor options of the moment for your wedding or event.
We chose an electric pink and tangerine color scheme for the day’s event, and Trendy Event Rentals was able to provide us with the chargers, fabric drapes, vases, and linens which include napkins, table clothes, and chair sashes. Take a look at some of the photos from that day to see how Essence of Events is able to work with various companies, and get inspiration for your special day.

The tangerine and electric pink color scheme is beautifully displayed here with the attention to detail from the centerpieces to the fabric swatches. The subtle pops of color are made bolder by heavy uses of white and silver.

A beautiful tablescape designed by Essence of Events. The use of fresh fruits in vases is a new trend, and one our coordinators continued to mimic even through to the name cards at each table setting. The attention to detail for this event is superior.

As you can see in this shot of the room, there are various centerpiece arrangements that our coordinators at Essence of Events used. A tall trumpet vase in the far back, then the fresh tangerines and oranges in the cylinder vases, and in the front mirrored square boxed vases with fresh flowers. Having varying centerpieces of different styles and heights is a new trend and a good way to show off different décor and design elements you want incorporated into your event.

These photos of the room shows the level of detail that Essence of Events puts into each wedding and event we plan. From floral to décor, linens, and your favors; Essence of Events makes sure that every touch is in place for you and your guests.

This up-close photo of the trumpet vase centerpiece Essence of Events designed shows another style of floral arrangement available for your event or wedding. Including fruit in with the flowers is exceptionally popular and also blends in with the theme.
Essence of Events, LLC has the pleasure of working with various rental companies and vendors across the Pacific Northwest region. We have preferred vendors that are professional, pre-screened, and available for referrals. To find out more about this service, contact us today.
