Most of the time, when you think of a wedding, you know that you can pretty much count on the fact there is going to be some kind of dessert at some point. Whether its cake, cupcakes, or cake pops, you're more than likely going to try to stuff as much of it in your face as possible, while trying to sing along with that tune you swear you know. Essence of Events would like you to sit back and indulge in the idea of going mini style.
Mini cakes, also known as petit fours, are not only cute and adorable, but are more likely to go down in one bite. Essence of Events has compiled some of our favorites. Enjoy the taste and elegance of a cake but with less mess.

These frostless, Ombre style, little bite size cakes are sure to be less messy than the traditional piece of cake covered in frosting

These adorable little cakes are just as fancy as the larger versions

Peanut butter mouse or red velvet mini cakes would be great as an alternative option.

Fondant is always a great option to make a more smooth finish and a great way of keeping it clean.
With so many options out there, don't be afraid to think out side the box and create your perfect cake into minis. Throwing an anniversary bash, a bachelorette, or a reunion? Really any party can be made into a fantastic and fun ode to a decade. Whichever decade you choose, there are four essential elements to success and Essence of Events, LLC can point you in the right direction. The most obvious and perhaps the most important element in a decade party is the fashion! The 50s are known for poodle skirts, greasers, and varsity jackets, think Grease.

The 60s is known for its hippies! So embrace your inner flower child and rock a boldly patterned outfit.

Have you ever seen Saturday Night Fever? Then you know the 70s is all about disco!

Big hair, brightly colored spandex, valley girls and Miami Vice characterize the iconic 80s.

Whichever decade you choose, popular music from that era is a must! Some simple googling will help you create a mix that will get your guests out of their seats and onto the dance floor. The King of Rock & Roll stole the show in the 50s, but other popular singers were Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Doris Day.

The 60s was a time of British Invasion with such artists as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds.

The 80s saw a new use of synthesizers and other non-traditional instruments and rap was particularly popular in the latter half of the decade. Some of the most popular musical stars were Michael Jackson, Madonna, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, and Run D.M.C.

Of course it is essential to include decade themed décor at your event. Rent a jukebox, paste bright flowers and peace signs all over the walls, or throw up a disco ball. Whatever you do, make sure it is true to your decade and that it is fun. And lastly, if possible, theme the food of your event to your decade. Like malts and burgers for the 50s!

Wedding planning can be overwhelming. Feeling the urge to just get out of dodge? Then go for it! A destination wedding can be a great option for many couples. Maybe you want to keep it intimate with a low guest count or perhaps you want to combine your wedding and honeymoon into one; whatever the reason for your decision, Essence of Events, LLC has a few great tips. Destination weddings can be surprising affordable! Many resorts offer combination packages for wedding and honeymoon, so get in touch with a resort in your ideal vacation spot and start hashing out the details. The most popular destination locations are tropical and create swoon-worthy photos.

Tropical beaches in international locations may be the most popular choices, but other destinations create photos that are just as spectacular.

Nervous about traveling out of the country? There are plenty of fabulous destinations right here in the States. Go warm and wonderful in Savannah, Charleston, or the Keys. Escape to the mountains in Aspen or Leavenworth. Or if you prefer the majesty of the desert, head to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, or anywhere in Nevada. One of the most wondrous aspects of America is her diversity. There is no wrong choice for a destination wedding!

An important thing to remember about destination weddings is to plan early! Give your guests plenty of time to book their flights, hotels, and take off work. Many couples opt to have welcome baskets ready for their guests upon arrival. This is a great way to say thank you to your friends and family for traveling. Baskets tend to contain all important contact information, relevant maps of the area, a welcome letter, a detailed schedule, list of local attractions including restaurants, thematic snacks and destination essentials. Another nice touch would be to provide any transportation needed on your big day; such as, a trolley or shuttle from the hotel to the ceremony and reception locations.
